Tripoli: Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi has admitted that he had left his residence complex, which previously seized by rebel fighters. Gaddafi called his action as a "tactical retreat."
"Bab al-Azizya no longer shaped pile of rubble after it was hit by 64 missiles of NATO and we retreat from it for tactical reasons," he said in a speech broadcast on television station website on Wednesday (24 / 8), as quoted by AFP.
The speech is also quoted by a pro-Gaddafi channel Al-Oruba, which emerged after the rebel fighters stormed the residence complex that is widespread but found no trace of her family or anyone else.
The station did not indicate where he had gone. At the same time, a spokesman for Gaddafi, Mussa Ibrahim told Arrai channel based in Syria that more than 6,500 "volunteers" had arrived in Tripoli to fight to defend the regime and calling for more.
"The volunteers please come to Libya and we will give you guns, ammunition and training," he said. Gaddafi Ibrahim said the troops had arrested a number of rebel leaders and warned that if NATO attacks continue "we will turn Libya into more flared again and we were able to protect civilians from the gang-gang crusade and its allies."
